Eileen Schuh, answers five fun questions:

First lines are important in novels. What is the favourite first line you’ve written and from what work is it?

“The world was depending on her; she had promises to keep.” DISPASSIONATE LIES

If someone told you your characters were sitting in the room across the hall, would you walk across to meet them? Why or why not?

Definitely! My BackTracker characters are so real to me, I probably wouldn’t even notice the absurdity of their visit. I’d love to give them all a hug.

If you could magically become one of your characters, who would it be?

Despite her traumatic past, I can’t help but envy Katrina , the young protagonist in the BackTracker series. She has beauty and brains and a fearless energy that leads her into great adventures. As she matures, she seizes opportunities to act heroically and ends up making many positive differences on a world scale. I’d like to be a hero like her.

What day of the week is your favourite for writing?

Monday. I usually don’t write on the weekends, often going into the wilderness for a break even from the internet. Come Monday, I’m refreshed and raring to go.

Compare one of your novels to a food item or entré.

DISPASSIONATE LIES is dark creamy chocolate--sinful, delicious, comfort food.
